Méditations sur la Sainte Trinité (59th)
This triptych takes its inspiration from French modernist composer par excellence, Olivier Messiaen, and his "Méditations sur le Mystère de la Sainte Trinité" (English, "Meditations on the Mystery of the Holy Trinity") for organ, 1969. Messiaen's composition provides transcendent and indeed at times, rumbling blasts of illumination, not unlike this trio of chronological train motion captures within the Manhattan underground. Tiled lapis lazuli, and glowing emerald and amber hues permeate the metallic foundation. Souls glide unimpeded to destinations unknown.
Three separate captures from Manhattan's 59th St. Station, aligned vertically as a single fine art print, suitable for framing. A white border space (approx. 0.75 inches) surrounds each image.
