Wagadou (Molten)
The title hails from exemplary New York poet Barbara Guest, by way of Ghana. Guest observed an outdoor thermometer in France that measured temperatures with phrases: "Wagadou" indicated very hot; "Neige Fondante" indicated freezing; and so forth. The color and lightness of Guest's inimitable wordplay applies, as does the melting Ghanaian heat.
Series: Entr'acte: Tractors, dozers, plows and their resplendent parts. A peek "between the acts." After a season of hard labor, these bright machines lay at rest. I find their colors and textures bountiful, alluring. Animate.
