Propagate 7
Seven layered exposures of a flowing inlet. A dense congragation of mossy rocks lay underneath. Taken in a designated natural shore preserve.
I consider W. H. Auden's "Bucolics" sequence a personal touchstone, if not direct inspiration here:
"Innocent still is your outcry, water, and there /
Even, to his soiled heart raging at what it is /
Tells of a sort of world, quite other /
Altogether different from this one" (1951).
This piece is offered on a wonderful Japanese Kozo paper developed by Gary Wornell for Epson Europe. It is not available in North America, so we have imported small quantities for specific works. This paper bears some resemblance to the excellent Awagami Factory papers, but I feel this particular fibre-based Kozo also exhibits an exceptional saturation point and very deep black levels. It is also highly durable for such a thin, translucent material.
