Found Encaustic II
These are some of My Favorite Things: Construction Sites. Layers. Windows. Cranes and Mass Machinery. Brilliant, Thick, Textured Paint. Mass. Light. Serendipity.
This brief series has them all. As I walked by a construction site in New York City with my camera, it took me a few moments to realize these small portals, in a temporarily erected passenger safety tunnel, were splattered and worked over just like an abstract canvas. The coated windows provided a double vision: a thick, waxen encaustic-like surface, with translucent views into the backlit construction site itself. A fortuitous glow.
